I think that this is a very good opening advertisement for a network, warner brothers is one of the biggest names in the movie business, this is why there advertisement is so good. This one is perfect for a bit blockbuster like a new harry potter film because it sets the dramatic scene with the loud music and the intense movement of the logo.

What makes a good opening scene to a movie?

some opening scenes to movies work really well but some fail because they arn't set up properly, from my research i have found that the best opening scenes are the ones that tell a story. The opening scene is your first opportunity to engage the audience, if you do it right you will have the best start to your film. It is very important to have a good opening scene, personally i think that it is one of the main parts to a film. 

 

I like this picture from men in black because you can see the seriousness on there faces when you know that the film 'men in black' is not a serious series. Will Smith is most known for his roll in 'fresh prince of bel air' so the contrast between comedy and seriousness makes the film interesting and incising for the audience.
